We offer open enrollment chainsaw training courses for individuals from anywhere in Ireland to come together at one location and receive training in basic chainsaw use and maintenance with the option to progress to advanced chainsaw training.

These open enrollment courses are ideal for people who are not part of a group or organization but wish to receive training in the use of chainsaws.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Participants will learn to perform the following skills with an emphasis on safety

1. Cut trees up to guidebar length
2. Crosscutting. Snedding (debranching)
3. Split-Level cuts
4. Taking down hung-up trees
5. General chainsaw maintenance
6. Chain sharpening

ARE THERE ANY PER-REQUISITES – You must be at least 16 years of age to undertake the training and assessment. Cosgrove Training and Safety Services can provide the necessary personal protective equipment and chainsaws for use during the course if required.

DURATION – 5 days

ACCREDITATION – Upon successful completion candidates will be assessed for City and Guilds/NPTC Units 201, 202 & 203.
